Reliable Home Care Support for Mr A in Morecambe
Location: Morecambe
Funding Type: Self-Funding (Private)
The Situation
Mr A had recently suffered a stroke and needed regular day-to-day support at home. His wife had been providing much of this care herself, helping him with his routine and making sure he felt safe and comfortable.
However, when she broke her arm, she was suddenly unable to continue providing the same level of support. This left both Mr A and his wife in a difficult position. Mr A still needed help with personal care and his morning routine, while his wife was finding it increasingly hard to manage everything on her own.
As well as the practical strain, she was also losing valuable time for herself. With very little opportunity to attend appointments, see friends or simply take a break, she was becoming exhausted and isolated.
Our Support
All About You introduced a simple, reliable care plan that worked around the couple’s needs and helped ease the pressure at home.
A daily one-hour morning visit was arranged to support Mr A with his personal care and morning routine. This helped him start each day feeling clean, comfortable and well cared for, while giving his wife reassurance that regular support was in place.
Alongside this, we also arranged a flexible sitting service. This meant Mr A’s wife could attend appointments, go out to socialise or enjoy some much-needed time for herself, knowing that Mr A was safe and supported at home.
The care was designed to fit around their life, rather than disrupt it. By offering both practical personal care and flexible respite support, we were able to help both Mr A and his wife feel more confident in their day-to-day routine.
The Outcome
With the right support in place, Mr A was able to remain safely at home with his wife. His daily morning visit helped maintain his routine and dignity, while the flexible sitting service gave his wife the breathing space she needed.
Most importantly, the couple felt supported and reassured. Mr A continued living in the familiar surroundings of his own home, while his wife regained the freedom to look after herself, attend appointments and spend time doing the things she enjoyed.
This support helped them maintain their independence as a couple, without either of them feeling they had to cope alone.
