Companionship

“Thank you so much to all who have been looking after my father for the past couple of years. He appreciated the patience and kindness shown to him, my sister and I couldn’t have manager without the truly excellent care provided.”

Loneliness affects hundreds of thousands throughout the UK especially those over the age of 75.

It is not unusual for an elderly person to experience days and even weeks without having contact with another person. According to Age UK, before the pandemic, around 1 in 12 people aged fifty and over in England were often lonely, equivalent to around 1.4 million people and more than a million older people say they go for over a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member.

All About You carers are available to support you and your family in any way we can, be it a friendly welfare check offering peace of mind to loved ones, a sitting service, or support with attending a medical appointment.

Welfare Check

We offer peace of mind for your loved ones and security for yourself, a welfare check is a pop in visit to make sure everything with you is safe and well. If not, we will contact your chosen advocate or the appropriate emergency service. Welfare checks are popular with families who don’t live locally.

Sitting Service

We can offer respite care and sitting service to provide companionship when you are alone for time you require. Our companions will brighten up your day with a chat, board game or other pastimes.

Escorting

If you need assistance to attend an appointment with your GP, hospital or dentist we are happy to escort you. If you wish we will assist to communicate your opinions, preferences and choices and ensure they are understood by the person you are seeing.

Social Outings

Fancy popping out to the local shops, going out for a coffee or meeting up with friends. We are happy to accompany you and ensure you get there on time and back home safely. We even accompany people to go on holiday abroad. If you need a companion then just give us a call to discuss your requirements.

Respite care

If you are worried about who is going to care for you when your usual carer or family go away for a well-earned break, maybe a weekend or a few weeks, or you urgently need some short term care due to sickness or a family emergency, we’re just a phone call away from providing one-to-one care. We’re happy to provide short term care whenever you need, we will even keep you in touch with your family whilst they’re away.

Digital inclusion

In today’s digital world for some elderly people keeping in touch can be a challenge, though not always possible our staff can teach digital skills enabling people to contact family themselves. Alternately during our visit we can access your friends and family using a device of your choice.
