The Situation
Mrs L had previously received care from All About You and had built familiarity and trust with the carers who supported her. This gave both Mrs L and her family reassurance, as she was being cared for by people who understood her needs, routine and preferences.
After a fall which resulted in a broken hip, Mrs L was discharged from the hospital with a new care provider. However, Mrs L and her family were unhappy with the new service and felt it was important for her to return to the carers she already knew.
At such a sensitive stage, continuity and trust mattered more than ever. Mrs L’s family wanted her to feel comfortable, settled and supported by familiar faces, rather than adjusting to a completely new team.
Our Support
At the family’s request, the NHS contacted All About You to take over Mrs L’s care package.
We worked with the NHS to agree on the funding and make arrangements for care to be reinstated. A package of four visits per day was put in place, providing regular support throughout the day and helping ensure Mrs L was cared for with compassion, dignity and consistency.
The care focused on end-of-life support, with familiar carers returning to provide comfort and reassurance. Because Mrs L already knew the All About You team, this helped create a calmer and more comforting care experience for both her and her family.
Our priority was to make sure Mrs L felt safe, respected and supported during the final stage of her life.
The Outcome
Mrs L received compassionate care from carers she already knew and trusted. This familiarity made a meaningful difference, helping her feel more comfortable and settled at home.
